That is what makes a Recall Paper the closest read you can get on your own readiness. They are not official exam content, and we are not affiliated with MRCP(UK), the Federation, or any Royal College.

A score against an estimated pass mark for that paper, with what you got wrong and what you ran out of time for kept apart, because they are different problems. A harder paper is passed with a lower mark, so each paper carries its own.

Are there MRCP Part 1 past papers?
No, and MRCP(UK) has never published past papers for Part 1. A Recall Paper is assembled from questions candidates recalled after their own sittings, gathered over many years and curated to the specialty spread MRCP(UK) publishes for the real paper. It is not official or leaked exam content, and we are not affiliated with MRCP(UK).

What is a Recall Paper?
A 100-question MRCP Part 1 paper built from questions candidates recalled after their own sittings, assembled to the specialty spread MRCP(UK) publishes for the real paper. You sit it in one go, three hours, and afterwards you get your score against an estimated pass mark for that paper, plus where you went wrong.
How is MRCP Part 1 actually marked?
Everyone is judged against the same standard, and what changes is how many marks that takes on your paper. Examiners set the standard before the exam by estimating how many borderline candidates would get each question right, so it is a level of ability rather than a percentage, and there is no quota capping how many people pass. Afterwards, each question’s real difficulty is measured and marks are put on a common scale, which is why a harder paper needs fewer correct answers to reach the same standard. Your result comes back as a scaled score from roughly 200 to 800, with 450 as a pass. No mark out of 100 is ever published, which is why each Recall Paper carries its own estimate.

Do Recall Papers overlap with the question bank?
No. They sit outside the question bank entirely, so nothing you have already practised turns up in one, and sitting a paper does not use up your question bank progress.
