About us
From the founders.
Most revision tools are built around a simple assumption. Answer enough questions and you will pass. Most doctors sense, somewhere, that this is not quite right.
The hard part is not doing the questions. It is knowing which ones matter, understanding why the answers are not coming, and knowing where to point the next hour of revision. Sparkmed was built around that reality.
We are a team of doctors and an AI researcher. We spent years in medical education before building Sparkmed. We knew what the tools were missing and had the means to fix it.
Our team
Doctors and an AI researcher.
The people building Sparkmed have spent their careers at the intersection of medicine, education and applied AI.
Dr Cameron Whitley
Clinical Founder
A GP Registrar and Cambridge graduate who has spent years in medical education, most recently as Undergraduate Clinical Director at Pastest. He founded Sparkmed to make revision tools that are built on real learning science and genuinely enjoyable to use.
Dr Hamish Robertson
Clinical Founder
A paediatrics resident in North London and a Cambridge graduate. He was a Senior Clinical Fellow in Medical Education at UCL and an alumnus of the NHS Clinical AI Fellowship, and started Sparkmed to make high-quality exam preparation genuinely accessible.
LinkedInDr Kajal Ruparell
Clinical Founder
An obstetrics and gynaecology doctor in London and an Imperial graduate, with a PGCAP in medical education from Queen Mary University of London. She builds Sparkmed to do what most question banks miss: guide doctors through the hard topics, not just test recall.
LinkedInDr Parth Amin, PhD
Founder & Chief Technology Officer
An AI researcher and founder with a PhD in artificial intelligence from Aalto University, more than 25 patents, and work spanning defence, robotics and semiconductors. He leads the technology behind SparkCoach and Sparkmed's Pass Prediction.
