Exam dates and fees, 2026/27
Every confirmed MRCP Part 1 sitting for 2026 and 2027, with application windows, fees and results dates, verified in June 2026 against the official MRCP(UK) calendar on thefederation.uk.
Part 1 runs three times a year, in January, May and September. The detail that catches people out is the application window: it opens roughly two months before the exam, stays open for one week only, and closes at 8:00am UK time. Applications outside the window are not accepted, so put the dates below in your calendar now.

Already sat Part 1 in 2026?
Results for the 21 May 2026 exam are due by 3 July 2026. Results for the 28 January 2026 exam were released by 13 March 2026. Both of those sittings were charged at the earlier fee of £502 (UK) or £672 (international).
How much MRCP Part 1 costs
From the September 2026 sitting the exam fee is £520 for UK candidates and £696 for international candidates, up from £502 and £672 earlier in 2026. The fee is paid to MRCP(UK) when you apply, through your MyMRCP(UK) account. Candidates sitting in Hong Kong apply through a different process with different fees.
These are the official examination fees, separate from whatever you spend on revision. For comparison, Sparkmed's full MRCP Part 1 question bank is £29 for four months, with no auto-renewal.
How applying works
You apply online through a MyMRCP(UK) account on thefederation.uk. To be eligible you need a primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC (or equivalent) and at least 12 months of postgraduate clinical experience in a role involving direct patient care, completed before your exam date.
The window is strict: it opens at 8:00am UK time, closes at 8:00am one week later, and late applications are not accepted. Do not leave it to the final day; if anything goes wrong with your account or payment, there is no second chance until the next sitting.
If you need reasonable adjustments, the request deadlines fall shortly after each window opens: 28 July 2026 for the September 2026 sitting, then 10 November 2026, 23 March 2027 and 27 July 2027 for the three sittings after it.
Exam delivery is changing in 2026
From the September 2026 sitting, MRCP Part 1 is delivered in test centres. Earlier 2026 sittings ran by remote online proctoring for UK-based candidates and some international locations; that option ends with the May 2026 exam (candidates based in Myanmar and Sudan continue online). If you last looked at the logistics a year ago, check your nearest centre on thefederation.uk before you book.
Planning your revision around a sitting
Work backwards from your exam date. A three-to-four-month run of regular question practice is a common and realistic shape for Part 1 revision alongside full-time work, which is why Sparkmed's plan is four months long.
